My Keys, Eyeglasses, And Wallet Keep Disappearing!

Some seniors say that things regularly go missing on them. As a senior, I can vouch that lost keys, eyeglasses, and wallets are found if you look long enough, most of the time. Craig Groeschel says in his book Soul Detox that you will always find what you are looking for, but not in terms of lost articles.

Groeschel contends: “You will always find what you are looking for. Think about the difference between two birds: a vulture and a hummingbird. Vultures soar high in the sky, looking and searching. What does a vulture find? Dead things. The ugly oversized bird doesn’t stop until he finds lifeless, rotting roadkill. Contrast the vulture to the tiny hummingbird.

With wings flapping twenty beats a second, what does this small bird find? Not dead things and disgusting, rancid meat, but instead, sweet, life-giving nectar. Daily, each bird finds what he is looking for. The same is true for you. You can be on a roadkill diet, or you can find nectar in each day. It’s up to you because you will find what you search for.”

I say if you seek the Lord, you will find Him. I encourage you to do so with the words of Isaiah 55:6: “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.” Look for God in his word or the Bible.

If you are looking for sin, you’ll find it quickly because it is popular. I regret saying it’s easy to get addicted to the drugs of your choice. No one starts out to be a drug addict or alcoholic, but people die of drug overdoses daily. If you enjoy slander, judging, labeling, and hating, you will find lots of folks to agree with you and will help you tear others down.

Increasingly people focus on wealth and self-gratification. They have decided God, His Word, and organized religion are the last things they need or want. Studies have proven that all people have a self-enhancement attitude that can lead to blindness. We all think we’re more moral than someone else. It’s remarkable how good we think we are. Just ask us, and we’ll tell you about it.

The Bible speaks of an urgency concerning believing in and accepting God and turning to him in repentance and love. God has said clearly, “Seek the Lord while he may be found. Call on him while he is near.” God declares clearly, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower, and bread for the eater. So is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:8-11)

A wise person fears the Lord and shuns evil, but foolish is the person who is hotheaded and reckless in their words and actions. (Proverbs 14:16) Seek God!
